For me painting is an act of meditation in motion.
I try to continuously see from moment to moment
the colours and forms as they materialize in front of me.

When I begin painting,
I do not know what the outcome will be
this frees me from being attached to a specific result.
I choose a colour and begin to follow it across the canvas
where shapes or textures eventually emerge.

It is like having a dream, your subconscious offers up
all this rich material and you recognize
and explore the meaning of the symbols.
Hopefully, you learn something new
and astonishing about your self.

Painting with wet acrylics,
there is a brief window of time for alteration.
It is a lesson in faith and part of the process to decide
if a fragment stays to be developed
or is washed away
to become something else.
